i had the voyager and i always used the "Word" option on the fron screen. And when i would type a word and it didnt have it as an option, i would go through and typr each individual letter in the "abc" format. And when i would use that word again in the "Word" format, it would remember it. Does the chocolate touch hasn't been doing it the same way. Is there somehoe i can save words so it will recognize it in the "T9 Word" format?

Type out the word in abc then (before pressing space) switch to t9. That usually saves the word for future T9 usage.
