Here's how to install themes on the LG Chocolate Touch:

First, setup Bitpim:
1. Download the latest version of Bitpim (I think the latest is 1.0.7). Once installed, open Bitpim.
2. Plug in your phone (Make sure your phone is in Modem Mode! On phone go into Menu>Settings>USB Auto Detection>Modem Mode)
3. By default, Bitpim will try detecting your phone at startup, but it will fail. Once it fails, it should ask to open settings. Click yes. (If for some reason it doesn't ask, just open settings anyway)
4. Uncheck detect phone at startup, so you only have to do this once.
5. Under Phone Type, set it as either EnV Touch, Chocolate 3, or Dare. It doesn't really matter.
6. Under COM port, type the COM port your phone is connected to. If you don't know, click Browse next to it, and look for LGE USB Modem. It should be at the top of the list, and should have a * next to it. Click OK once you've found it.
7. Click OK to save settings.
8. The preinstalled categories Bitpim has at the side for your contacts and stuff won't work for the phone. So to view the filesystem go to View at the top and check View Filesystem.
9. Click Filesystem on the side. This will give you access to the filesystem. (opening the root folder of the phone will take awhile to load, but just wait, it'll work)

Next, Install the theme
1. In the Filesystem section of Bitpim, navigate to /flash/ui/menu
2. Find the SWF theme file you downloaded from here. If it's in a ZIP folder, unzip it.
3. In the folder I told you to navigate to in Bitpim, choose one of the two themes to replace with your downloaded theme. topMenuType1Color1Sub.swf is the Hi-Fi color scheme, and the other is the Shooting Star one. So pretty much I'm just saying that when in a menu other than the main menu, it can either be gray or purple.
4. Whichever one you choose, right click and click Save. Save it to your hard drive just in case something goes wrong, or you want to change it back.
5. After you've backed up the original, right click the one you just backed up and click Overwrite.
6. Navigate to the theme you downloaded from here. It should be a .SWF file.
7. It will overwrite the original theme.

That's it. If you want to change it back to the original just Overwrite the one you replaced with the original you saved to your hard drive.

Hope this helps! If you need any more help you can send me a personal message.

Great tut.  Helped me.  Just got my Phone Yesterday  But it does need to have the drivers part put in.  I have Windows 7 also and had to download and install the LG Drivers so that is not always true.

It detected it fine for my USB Mass storage, but needed the drivers for me to connect it to Bitpim.  Windows 7 did not install my drivers correctly at all until i downloaded the new ones.  Might depend on which Chocolate phone you have too.

Oh. Sorry. Well I know the ones that need to be downloaded are the ones for the modem. I had downloaded VZAccess Manager for my old phone, so that might have installed the drivers for my new one.

Please help me. At this part:

9. Click Filesystem on the side. This will give you access to the filesystem. (opening the root folder of the phone will take awhile to load, but just wait, it'll work)

When I click on it, an error comes up saying: "COM4: COULD NOT OPEN FILE" and some other crap that I don't fill like copying it since it was a lot of weird things. Anyways yes I did follow everything EXACTLY like you said. Please help. If someone who knows what their doing could team-view me and make it work for me or just tell me how to fix it I would really appreciate it.

I've done everything i'm supposed to do, but when i click the plus next to filesystem it says retrieving for a while, then it goes away, but still loads, after a while (again) it stops, but nothing comes up. Is there anything i can do?

Wait, what operating system are you using? I'm using Windows right now, and it's working fine. But the other day I had Ubuntu running and had Bitpim installed on there, and I was getting that same problem. Are you running a Linux operating system, or a Mac?
