I'm not sure why this forum would take so long to load. I just clicked reply and it loaded in about 10 seconds. Weird...
I was referring to additional customization, but then realized that not everyone may be comfortable with using Bitpim and getting into the system files on their phone.
Using Bitpim, I have replaced the first two animations in the wallpaper folder with "flash clocks", meaning clock wallpaper that is Flash based. It has a background and a clock that pulls time data from the onboard settings (does NOT use data over the network). If you Google "LG Dare flash clocks", you should find examples of what I am talking about.

I guess it's just me then on the forum being slow issue.

I have heard about BitPim and flash-clocks and stuff on the Dare forum. I might do something like that eventually, but for now since the phone is brand new, I don't want to take any chances on messing anything up just yet. But maybe eventually I will.

Good call on that. I have been using software to customize my phones since the days of Verizon locking down everything in an attempt to get us to pay for everything (download pics to computer, custom ringtones onto phones, wallpaper, etc.). I have become fairly comfortable with most aspects of the programs available (Bitpim for LGs and P2kCommander for Motorolas). Once the newness wears off, be sure to read everything you can about using these...they are not for the novice (you can overwrite the wrong files and brick your phone--they don't have the redundant "Are you sure you want to" warning).
