apps for chocolate touch

Why do almost all of the apps on verizons website say they don't work with the chocolate touch? Don't get me wrong i love the phone but every one of the apps i want say "will not work with this phone". I dont get it, as money hungry as verizon is you would think they would have tons of apps for this new cool phone. Even stranger is that the phone comes preloaded with visual voicemail app but will not work, verizons website again list this app as "will not work with this phone" what the hell is up with that? Come on verizon get with the program, if you can put out a sweet phone like this you must be able to put out the apps that complement the phone ! verizon all I ask is for some new apps, you make em and I'll pay for em !!
