Every once in a while the phone just vibrates for 2 seconds.  Nothing going on just sitting on the table or in my pocket.

What's up with that?

No not imaging things. I called the LG support line and got to talk to a tech and he didn't have a solution and said I should take it back and get a new one cuz in his words "these kind of problems only get worse not better".  So I jumped in the car, went to the Alltel Store and presented the phone and problem to the sales guy and he immediately asked me if I had set up my email on the phone.  I said yes and he looked at the settings (in the Email ap) and the settings for "Auto-receive" and "Vibrate if I have mail" was turned on.  He said even though the ap was not running on the phone any new emails were still reporting to the phone every time one came in.  I unchecked both boxes and no more random vibrate.  If you want to be notified of incoming emails - leave both these boxes checked.  My preference is to check my email at my discretion.  This GREATLY improved battery life.  I can go 6-7 days on a charge - awesome!

Here is where to find the setting in the Email ap: Menu/Settings/Preferences

If you have more than one email account you have to adjust these settings in each one.

If it beeps while you're in a call it usually means you got a text message or you have a call waiting.
