I use my fingernail to touch the screen and I never have problems.  Touching with the pad of my fingertip doesn't work very well for me.

Ah! I figured it out ... I had the phone on word prediction while texting, causing it to lag.

You should use your fingernails on this type of touch screen. Pads of your fingers won't work that well.

As for the cursor moving to random spots while texting, that's because your finger is touching a spot in the message box when you tap a key that is on the first row of the qwerty keyboard. The top row of the keyboard is too close to the message box.

I have had zero problems with the keybd, amazing since it's so small. (Regardless of how cold it is in New York, or Vancouver, or Bismark...)

The only odd touch experience is that sometimes I have to press an icon more than once, even though the icon "highlighted" every time to show that it was being pressed.
