My Chocolate Touch recently started having issues with audio on calls and music.  If I use the headphone jack I can play music and make phone calls, but when I try to use the phone without headphones nothing is heard.  Everything else works fine including the sounds for the buttons and the ringer.  I have tried *228, restoring phone and resetting the phone and nothing has fixed the issue.  Any suggestions?

It sounds like there's something wrong with the speaker. I don't know of any way to fix this. But if you call the Verizon Warranty Center and tell them, they should replace it for free, I think. You could try.

I am also experiencing this problem.  It started when I unplugged the headset I was using to listen to the FM Radio.  I can hear all of my alert sounds, etc., but I hear nothing when I dial or receive a call.  If I open the FM Radio app, it indicates that the headphones are plugged in, even though they are not.
